How do I know when it is too cold to install shingles?

While there are no offical guidelines for minimum temperature for shingle installation, your contractor must take extra care when working with shingles in the cold, as they become very fragile and cold.

It is also recommended that he use quarter-sized dabs of adhesive in cold weather, as the self-sealing strips will not adhere to each other until the weather warms up.
