Combining Keynote Speakers and Promotional Booths in a Room Full of Business Leaders

Deidre Macht formed and incorporated ISO Resources Inc., a Calgary private company, of which she is the C.E.O., in November of 1985. Her Legal and Business Data Processing degrees provide her with the unique skill sets required to establish such a specialized corporation. In 1992 she was the Executive Chairman for the Calgary Chapter for the American Society for Industrial Security and currently sits on the Security Management Advisory Board at the University of Calgary. She is also the Chairperson for the Environmental Liability Advisory Board, which is comprised of the Canadian Banker's Association, The Insurance Bureau of Canada, Environment Canada, Alberta Public Safety and various educational institutions.

Ms. Macht has provided compliance data modeling assistance to CAPP, CAPL, AEP and the EUB. An integral working knowledge of Alberta legislation and regulations inclusive of Alberta Environmental Protection and the Energy Utility Board with their inter-jurisdictional liaisons were required to map out life cycle due diligence for both the Oil and Gas and utility industries. She has worked with a variety of Native Energy Bands across Canada. She is the Instructor for Environmentally Sustainable Development I & II, part of the Applied Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. She is currently heading up all Oil and Gas related liability assessments and audits for the City of Calgary inclusive of the conception and creation of a City of Calgary focused Synergy group for dealing with annexation, expansion and development issues as they relate to the energy industry.

Deidre MC’d the recent Synergy in Motion conference in Edmonton and sat on both the MUST and convention committees.


“Mackenzie Gas Project Update”
– The Aboriginal Perspective

 The presentation:

  • provided a general overview of the $ 7.6 billion pipeline project to carry the vast gas reserves of the Mackenzie Delta to markets in the south
  • explained the role of Aboriginals in the development and ownership of the gas pipeline that will traverse their lands
  •  elaborated on some of the challenges being faced by the project
  • gave a brief report on the current status of the project

Robert Marshall is a professional engineer registered in the province of Alberta and is currently the Technical Director for the Aboriginal Pipeline Group. Mr. Marshall has over thirty-five years of experience in infrastructure development, primarily in management, engineering and construction of natural gas transmission systems worldwide. Mr. Marshall participated in the design and construction of the Trans Alaska oil pipeline in the 70s as well as the preparation of one of the first applications for a gas pipeline up the Mackenzie Valley.  Prior to joining the APG, Mr. Marshall spent several years in South America as a Director of Engineering and later as construction manager for the Gas Pacifico pipeline which traversed the Andes Mountains between Argentina and Chile.  More recently he spent almost four years working for the GNWT Minerals, Oil & Gas Division of the GNWT as a senior pipeline advisor helping the government to prepare for their role in a future Mackenzie Gas Pipeline.
